Chapter 3
Yes I Do !!
“Come here” shifting himself on the couch he pulled Tripura near. “What! why did you stop?” double interrogative clause are often used to express the deepest annoyance in the coldest way possible. He again pulled her towards him. When she started giving him a tough time his patience broke. “What happened Tipsy?”
“Answer me first what about Radhika and Trisha?” slithering her hand out from Karan’s hands Tripura asked him again.
“Okay.” He said under his deepest sigh. “Now listen very carefully. What I am going to tell you.” He stood up at his position. Clasping his hands close to his chest Karan turned around. “I was young and successful. I had never tasted what failure is. I never knew what flops are; from the day one I tasted success. Parties, travelling, girls, friends, everything was my life. In one such party I meet Radhika. Out of blue I decided to propose her on our first meet. I didn't even know her name then. Google helped me to trace a jewellery shop nearby and Vishal who was with me since then, grabbed a solicitor diamond ring for her. I went down on my knees and proposed her. In return she turned back and walked out of the pub. That was a great slap on Karan Khanna’s face. I became adamant to marry her. So I went straight to her home and put the proposal to her father. She took me courageous and in love truly deeply madly. I also thought so for a certain time being, that I am truly deeply madly in love with her. Trisha came to our world within a year of marriage. I became a father when I was at the peak of my career and was adored and accepted as heartthrob. Where ever I would go ladies will go any extent to get a hug from me, even more. More means not your trail room analogy but one night stands.” Karan looked out to the new sun that was slowly rising high scorching its heat all through the terrestrial.
“I was confused. I failed to balance between stardom and family. I chose money to my family, my wife and daughter. I never thought what they feel, I was running behind a mirage and when Radhika freed herself from me, I don't know. She left and we headed for a divorce. When her lawyer said that Trisha will remain with her mother, now when I look back I curse myself to be called as her father even, there was a sheer satisfaction all through out. I was happy that I was free. I was free to explore again. I never tried to hold her back. Never ever.” Karan gasped. He looked back as Tripura kept her hand on his shoulder.
“And then news of her wedding startled me. Not because Radhika didn't even cared to inform me but because in my daughter's wedding I will not be able to show my power and wealth.” His voice broke in intervals. “And then you happened. Pushing me, convincing me to present her that earring in person. You pushed me near her and I felt that even after Radhika and Probodh gave their everything in her upbringing but that six years of her life with me, the scratches that I gave her little fragile heart that time got carve on it. I cruelly thrashed it!” Karan sat down on the couch. “You gave her back to me, now I can't leave her hand. I can't. If you have to accept me you have to accept me with Trsiha.” Karan knew how tough it is to accept a man with such past and a grown up daughter all of a sudden who equally loves her mother and step father and keens to be a part of her biological father’s life again. Though he was sure to convince Trisha about this alliance if Tripura says yes, he was not sure about the reaction of Radhika when this news will surface in.
While all these thoughts swirling inside his head, Tripura moved his hands away from his body and made her way to the place where he wanted her a few minutes earlier. Securing her place in his lap she made Karan smile faintly. “If I am not wrong you wanted this?” Tripura asked softly.
A swift smile crept to his lips, making him look to the other direction but only for a moment. How can a romantic hero shy out being in such a moment. Karan masterly grabbed her petite figure in his strong arms. “Yes.” He answered flashing a satisfying smile to her.
Draping her hands around his neck, Tripura moved close to Karan. There forehead touched, the sensuality building up was not unknown to either of them. “You didn't answer me Tanpura; which card I should finalize?” Both of them started laughing. After gathering their breathes their pleasant smiles echoed through their eyes.
“Tripura Sundari Nagarajan.” She sweetly answered under her satisfied smile.
With a deep sense of satisfaction and togetherness, the never meant to be couple took themselves in a quenching hug, like those thirsty birds which waited for the first drop of water of the monsoon after the scorching summer. He traced his lips along her neck to her smooth cheek, while his one hand was placed behind her head the other one was gripped against her waist tight. Their eyes meet when Tripura pushed him little away failing to collect herself under his loving torments. “Kiss me.” Karan said with a creepy smile drawn on his lips. “Kiss me Doctor.” He demanded again. “Now you are my addiction and I am the addict.”
“And I am the de-addiction counsellor you remember?” Tripura mocked him.
“I dare you, de-addict me.” Karan pulled her closer. “Now kiss me.”
Biting her lower lips, she moved closer to him. As he closed his eyes welcoming her to do the needful, Tripura mischievously shifted her direction and placed a soft peck on his left cheek.
“Arey!” Karan smiled at her. “This is not fair.”
“You wanted a kiss and gave you now leave me.” She struggled freedom. “Leave naa. Amma will definitely find this fishy.”
“No I will not, until I will get my kiss.” He winked. “And if you will not I will definitely get what I want.” Karan waited for Tripura to answer. For minute or two when Tanpura failed to free herself, he made his grip stronger against her waist and brushed his hand along her cheeks then to her lips making her eyes close in reciprocation. Tracing his thumb on her lower lip he left them after a pulling it down softly. Moving his face near her, he smiled as her tensed warm breathes fell on his. Their noses were the first to meet. With her eyes still shut tight, Tripura had no courage to face the demanding yet drenched in love eyes of her man. He knew that Tripura has never let any man to come that close to her, though she had tried to convince him about her to be open minded, Karan knew the truth. Holding her head with one hand he pulled her more into him. She ricocheted. Her uneven tensed breathes made him more eager to taste her sweetness. Just an inch away both of them shivered out from that celestial moment with the loud knocks at the door.
Those knocks made Tripura’s escapade easy. She hurried out from Karan’s arms and tried to collect herself back to normal. “I will get you soon, Dr. Nagrajan. I am too a believer of using the trial room.” He whispered with a wink.
When the two love birds were still in denial to leave each other , the knocks became more frequent and then the voice from the other side made Karan clench his hand in a fist....
